rahncontemporary wurde im Mai 2008 in Zürich gegründet und befindet sich in der Nähe des Löwenbräu-Areals. Wichtige Schwerpunktsetzungen bilden die Präsentation, Vermittlung sowie Katalogförderung des künstlerischen Werkes. Dabei kommt dem Aufbau und der Entwicklung junger Künstler eine ebenso grosse Bedeutung wie der Präsentation aufstrebender und etablierter Künstler zu.
Darüber hinaus richtet die Galerie ein besonderes Augenmerk auf kuratierte Projekte – mit dem Fokus auf künstlerische Fragen wie zum Beispiel dem Einfluss Joseph Beuys auf seine Schüler, der theaterhaften Inszenierung, abstrakter Spielarten und des Unheimlichen in der zeitgenössischen Kunst. Zu diesen Projekten zählen “Beuys und die Folgen” mit Walter Dahn, Felix Droese, Robert Hartmann, Imi Knoebel und Katharina Sieverding; “Zwischen Nichts und Allem” mit Christof Mascher, Teo Otto und Markus Selg; “Alles Gerade lügt” mit Reto Boller, Lothar Götz, David Reed, Gert & Uwe Tobias und Pae White sowie “Breaking Bad” mit Pablo Alonso, Gregory Crewdson, Christoph Dettmeier und E.S. Mayorga.
In fünf Ausstellungen pro Jahr wird ein internationales Programm, das abstrakte, figurative und konzeptionelle Positionen in einem Crossover der Gattungen und einem spannungsvollen Wechselspiel künstlerischer Setzungen und Experimente zusammenfasst, gezeigt.

rahncontemporary was established in Zurich in May 2008. The gallery is located near to the Löwenbräu-Area. Special emphasis is to present and promote the artistic work. Furthermore, the gallery pays special attention to support the production of catalogues.
rahncontemporary attaches an equal high importance to the build-up of young emerging artists as well as to the presentation of mid-career and established artists. The gallery also concentrates on exhibiting curatorial projects with focus on artistic issues like the influence Joseph Beuys’ on his scholars, the theatrical stage, the variety of abstract positions, and the uncanny in contem-
porary art – below the group exhibitions „Beuys And The Consequences“ with Walter Dahn, Felix Droese, Robert Hartmann, Imi Knoebel and Katharina Sieverding; „Between Nothing And Everything“ with Christof Mascher, Teo Otto and Markus Selg; „Straight Lines Always Lie“ with Reto Boller, Lothar Götz, David Reed, Gert & Uwe Tobias and Pae White, and „Breaking Bad“ with Pablo Alonso, Gregory Crewdson, Christoph Dettmeier and E.S. Mayorga.
An international programme, which contains abstract, figurative and conceptual positions within a crossover of media and an exciting interplay of artistic placements und experiments, will be shown annually in five exhibitions.
